The Department of Civil Engineering and belongs to the School of Engineering of UTH and its facilities are located in Volos. The Laboratory of Hydromechanics and Environmental Engineering focuses its\u00a0activities in the areas of mathematical modelling of physical-chemical and biological processes in water systems and ecosystems, smart water, circular economy, societal challenges and sustainability and Nexus analysis and informatics. Several national and EU projects are undertaken by the lab\u00a0including FP7 projects SMS and ISS-EWATUS; Horizon 2020 projects Water4Cities and SIM4NEXUS; ERANETMED project NanoSWS and national project LakeRemake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UTH has constant presence in water resources related research, such as in the fields of water supply and distribution systems, lake ecosystems, hydroinformatics and water system modelling, with numerous publications in journals and software developed for specific purposes.
